Right, that's why I said news reader, not browser. If you use Outlook Express you can add a news account to it and specify msnews.microsoft.com as the news server. There are several hundred public news groups available there. They used to be accessible from http://www.dejanews.com, but since they were taken over by Google (and by extension Yahoo), I haven't had much luck getting there by that route.

Not quite the right URL. Try http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/community/news.asp and you'll notice that it's news://msnews.microsoft.com which means it's a newsgroup (NNTP) service, not HTTP. -- - Bill Thoen ------------------------------------------------------------ GISnet, 1401 Walnut St., Suite C, Boulder, CO 80302 tel: 303-786-9961, fax: 303-443-4856 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.gisnet.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________________________________ List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MapInfo-L" in the message body.
