FYI Hardware: HP designjet 1055CM, 128Mb RAM, 2Gig HD on WinNT4 network. Software: MapInfo v6.5 r19
Objective: Print A1 Portrait map with 50k aerial orthophoto scanned at 42 micron (600dpi), 2.5m cell size. Compressed to ECW fmt. Set to 50% translucency, layered over a patterned thematic. "Tall order eh?!!". Output Method - print using EMF set on. All internal handling checked on. Output scale 1:50,000. Print driver: AdobePS PS3 5.01 Before I tried this I set up a window as A3 Landscape 1:50,000 then sent this layout to the printer. It created a 100Mb print spool file and to my surprise it printed OK! I have yet to send the A1!!!!!!!!!!! More than likely I will NOT use the PS driver to print the A1, as (I am pretty sure) the printer will run out of RAM. So will use the HPGL driver v4.40 and process "In computer". Will keep you informed.
