Hi Christof,

I'm now using the UltraEdit32 freware (the license of the freeware is for 45 days).
You have to download the wordfile "mapbasic.txt" and :

- In UltraEdit32 Advanced/Configuration/Syntax_Highlighting you choose your wordlist
file.

- Then you can choose the colors for different groups of keywords , operands , numbers
or strings as you wish.

I hope it helps

Subject: MI-L Using UltraEdit32 as a MapBasic Editor?

Hi,

i remember somebody saying on this list that he or she was going to
publish a FAQ how to use UltraEdit as a MapBasic editor.
As we now, the original MapBasic Editor which comes with the packages is a
real pain in the arse.
I found MapBasic "Word files" for UltraEdit on the Internet (they are used
for highlighting syntax), but no hints how the integerate the editor.

Anybody tried that yet?

BTW, another editor such as Emacs would be ok as well. Or maybe plug it
into JBuilder...?

Cheers
Christof
