A table's .ID file links rows in its attribute file to entries in its .MAP
file (Wcontaining the table's graphic objects).

The only way for your damaged table to become a usable table again is to
rebuild its graphic objects.

If your original layer was a point layer, and had X and Y coordinate
columns, you can delete
the .MAP file and regenerate graphic objects with Table -> Create Points.

A few other types of object can rebuilt ONLY IF the attribute table
contained columns filled
with all the necessary information. These will require typing a command or
two into the
MapBasic window.

However, if you had polyline or region objects, I'm afraid you're completely
out of luck.
