The suggestions were: Shouldn't be close to the limit as someone had 60,000 buffers work OK Make sure that we are using the latest patch I had a look at the file my colleague was trying to buffer. Looks like it was corrupt. When I recreated what he had done I managed to do the buffer operation successfully.
