Hi

another possibility is the spatial extensin for PostgreSQL
(http://postgis.refractions.net/), but it lacks some of the gegraphic
operators (overlay) and that why, we have invested in Spatialware for SQL
server (where it would beee very nice with a lot of examples - the present
documentation is very sparse)

Hello Juanse,

Any database system can be used in a spatial way for point objects. It's
quite amazing the performance you can get simply by making rectangular
spatial queries using the "between" predicate in where clauses. In terms
of
a true spatial add-on for MySql, I have no heard of one and even if one
were
available, I cannot see any way it could interface correctly with Pro.

MapInfo recently announced SpatialWare for MS SQL Server and this looks
like
a great product for those who don't want to go all the way to Oracle
Spatial.

Hi everyone

I am interesting on knowing if Mysql can be used as a spacial server?

Can it store other geografies more than point (case of ms-access)?

If the above is yes, the usual how and compatibility with mapinfo i =
think applies?
