There is a note in the MI Pro 6 patch readme (Mi60032P.txt) -
15673 Integrated mapping application gives internal error 34623
when closing map window. Related to double-byte characters.
Which version of Pro are you running on? This has been a prob for us as well
(and evidently others on this list) - we are moving all the users of an
integrated map app up to another version early next year and I was hoping
this had gone away!

I am able to generate very easily that "internal error 34623" by simply
running from the Mapbasic window:
print windowinfo(1001,11)
1001 is the window_spec for the help window, 11 the attribute for "Open".
That function works correctly for all the other window types.
An internal error seems to be a real fatal error and closes MI. I was
wandering if there was not a way of catching it like with the "onerror goto
" statement that does not work with that particular error.
