You can do the following - if the MapBasic application doesn't use any ver.
6.0 features:

- Make a copy of your MBX file. Work on the _copy_.

- Open your new copy of the MBX - file in a hex editor (I use UltraEdit,
www.ultraedit.com). 

- Position 6 and forward contains the text "Version 600." or something like
that. The "600" part is the version number for MapInfo. 

- Change the "600" to "500". Don't change anythinge else. 

- Save the file.

- Try the edited mbx in MapInfo. It should work now !!
