I posed this question a few days ago. "I have downloaded raster images =
from the web that are georeferenced. (UTM NAD83)
How do you open them in MI when no .TAB exists yet? I don't have to=20
register them, do I ??"
Scott McVicar suggested using the GEOREG.MBX that comes with MapInfo =
tools. I tried it and am getting an error - "file does not contain =
valid registration information" It seems that the .tif does not have =
the registration info in it. Looking at the .hdr file it seems to have =
the registration info but GEOREG only promts for a .tif
Kevin Slover suggested using WorldREG.MBX and I will give it a try but =
wanted to be able to solve this in MapINFO first. I can't imagine that =
a georeferenced raster has to be registered manually in MapINFO, I've =
got to be missing something.
