I believe that was one of the KGM Utilities. TableOptimize??

Cheers Bill for jogging my memory :-)

Further searching through my files came up with:-

opt_stru.mbx - Optimize Structure Version 4.01
"This utility will help optimize a table by finding maximum lengths for each
column and then resetting their current widths."

I wonder what he is up to now? I remember the KGM Utils were an absolutely
essential set of tools when using MapInfo in the early days. Thanks Kevin,
you are a saviour for us "non-programmers" out there.

Subject: MI-L mbx util that auto reduced the width of fields?

I used to use an mbx that you could run and it would cut back the width of
the fields to the amount of txt written into that field i.e. field set to
character width 254 but only 75 characters written, it would automatically
calculate the characters and reduce the width in the table structure to 75.

Does anyone remember the name of this mbx? I cannot seem to find it on the
Directions site.
Thanks and regards
Chris
