I attempted the same thing, using different pen styles depending on information in a table. However, I ended up making seperate tables for each variant, because I need to be able to choose any number of variants at a time, and hide the others. As an add-on to your question, if there is a way to make certain symbol styles in a table visible, but hide all the other symbols in the same table?

I want to plot different symbols for different points depending on the a 'type' field in the underlying table eg. I want a blue round for well type = WATER, Red cross for well type = DRY etc. This is not thematic map. I just want to have these different symbols for points on the map. I know it can be done by making separate tables using query for each type, I dont want to end up making 20 tables. Would be gratful for any help Tigi __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
