Hello Laurence,

You are probably reaching the compression limits of JPEG files. You may wish
to try PNG files instead - I have often achieved smaller file sizes with
this format (intended to be the replacement for GIF) and the compression is
not "lossy", which means you will not see any undesirable image artefacts
like JPEG.

Hi,

I am saving some screen shots (File->Save Window as...) into JPG files. =
The JPG file size is approx. 700KB. I need to get these files down to =
about 50KB. I changed the output settings in Preferences to no avail. =
Any ideas? I need to program this into a MapBasic MBX and since the =
number of files is large I won't be doing this manually with the help of =
some external software unless the software is programmable to handle =
batch conversions.
