I would like to understand two particular points of the syntax of the SHADE
statement. I discovered these variants whent examining the contents of
windowinfo(frontwindow(),15) which is equivalent to part of the wor.

1 among the 6 syntaxes in the book only one (shading by ranges of
values) indicates the use of the APPLY keyword. However, if I make a
thematic using individual values colour style LINE template on a point
table, the shade string will contain APPLY COLOR

The SHADE syntax is thus more permissive than indicated in the book. How
much more? And where else?

2 In that shade string, the default symbol definition ends with # color 0
# or # color 1 #. No mention in the Help file of that piece of code.

Any idea about its use, impact or necessity?
