Hi there, I was just wondering whether there was a method within MapInfo to edit polygons without affecting surrounding polygons. The reason for asking this is due to the size of my datasets. I have over 1 million polygons, therefore I need to extract subsets from the full dataset for efficient editing (I run MapBasic routines on the subsets). I make no changes to the overall subset polygon boundary, however, when I paste the subset back into the total dataset, I find that there are small slivers or overlaps in the coverage. It is almost as if any change I make to a polygon within a coverage affects the surrounding polygons or the rest of the polygons in the overall dataset, however slightly this might be. The only way I've found of resolving this is to run a snap/thin - enable node snap, however due to the size of the dataset, this ends up being extremely time consuming, or the computer crashes due to the complexity of the task. Therefore I was wondering whether there was a way of fixing the position of certain polygons within a dataset in the same way you would make a layer uneditable (i.e. is it possible to make part of a layer uneditable).
