Some further clarification on my last post. The purpose of the program is to create an inital map/ layout for the user that he/she may change later.
The user may then make some alterations to the map or layout, and may wish to save the workspace to come back to it later. You expect a workspace to re-create the selection tables and maps as they appear on the screen. The quirk that seems odd to me is that if I generate a map using Mapbasic that has more than one selection table, and then save the settings as a workspace, the workspace does not contain the second selection table, but it does exists in the map when the workspace was saved. If I create the second selection table using SQL in MapInfo rather than the same selection query in Mapbasic, when the workspace is saved it contains the query. In both cases the first selection table is saved with the workspace.
