This is a standard Windows 2000 (NT) application error. To see the log,
open the event viewer (Control panel > administration tools> event
viewer). It will have a red ex next to it's error and will be located
in application log. Unfortunately, if you are not a real programming
person the information in the log doesn't help. Is this a common and
repeated issue? What are your hardware specs?

Subject: MI-L MAPINFOW.exe has generated errors ...

Hi ,

Would anyone know what this error message means (what could generate
it):
"MAPINFOW.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows......an
error log is being created". ???

Also, would anyone know where to find this error log? Or what would the
name of this file be?

I have found a few sugggestions as to what may cause this in the MapInfo
list archives (answers to Oliver Prudden identical question) :
- Use of collections tables;
- Tables headers containing !edit_version 650"
- Video driver type;
- Rebooting;
- Corrupted tables ...

All this was checked, but everything is normal.

Are there any other suggestions?
Did you ever find a solution to this Oliver?

Thanks in advance for your help,
And a good week-end to all!

Kind regards,
