Lattice versus Grid surfaces make a difference. If you are interested in
learning about grid-based spatial analysis you can pull a trialware copy of
MapCalc Learner at:

http://www.redhensystems.com/mapcalc

If you need some help in understanding grid-based analysis once you have the
MapCalc Learner trialware in hand take a look at this extensive on-line
resource -

http://www.innovativegis.com/basis/MapAnalysis/Default.html

MapCalc Learner provides excellent cross integration to MapInfo Pro 6.x.
Will export contours, MIG and point data. Give it a try....

Subject: MI-L Surface area calculation

List:

Anyone know of a way w/MI and/or Vertical Mapper to determine surface area.

VM has a window within the Cross Section table that when the data point is
clicked for land distance but it is, the way I use it, always greyed out.

Thanks
