Check your platform for the specific place of some of the "system" files of MI 6.5. It will depend upon the OS you are using. With my W2000 the .PRF and .WOR are in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\MapInfo\MapInfo\ while .PEN, .CLR and .FNT are in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\MapInfo\MapInfo\Professional\650. I am the only one on my network with MI and I guess that each user would find those files under his name.
All that to say that it is less frustrating to locate these files with a search than by using some path that may not exist in your set up. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible. Kerstin, The mapinfow.pen file moved with the upgrade to MapInfo 6.5. It now resides in the C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\MapInfo\MapInfo\Professional\650 directory. I've recently downloaded the Line Style editor from the MapInfo website and I have successfully altered the mapinfow.pen file, so you should be able to use it once you've located the mapinfow.pen file (I'm running Mapinfo 6.5).
