Thanks for all the useful hints for the above problem of downloading = waypoints and route and track data from a GPS receiver. I haven't tried = everything yet, but hope I will some time in future.=20 GPS manufacturer GARMIN tells me it can only be done with a MapSource = product they supply. (No info about cost, but it's not free, perhaps = about US $100) (Sam at Garmin Cartography staff, = http://www.garmin.com/cartography ) (This route also suggested by Zaini Nordin, Woody Woodruff, Tim Nuteson) Then there's GARFILE, available free from = http://www.icsinger.de/freeware.htm. This downloads into Mapinfo Mid/Mif = format, which can later be exported if necessary. (Peter Doyle, Dale = Appleton) Then there is the Freeware program Waypoint+ from http://www.tapr.org/~kh2z/Waypoint/ (Jim Reed) Steven Dunn says: The best product I came across was GPS Trackmaker - = http://www.gpstm.com/ Worked first time, and it's free for non-commercial purposes.=20 This last one is the one I am using at the moment and it seems to do all = I need.=20 Thanks all, again! andre from: andr=E9 boessenkool po box 101 - vlottenburg 7604 south africa tel (+27 21) 881 3188 fax (+27 21) 881 3189 [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.cabex.co.za _______________________________________________________________________ List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MapInfo-L" in the message body.
