You might also like to take a look at MapCalc. MapCalc has in my opinion excellent cross integration to both Golden Software's Surfer 7.0 and MapInfo Professional 6.x. In the case of slope the process is simply generate the needed slope map then contourize and export the contours to MapInfo. If you are interested in spatial analysis via raster methods, you may down load the Learner version of MapCalc. There are 30+ spatial operations and as a set rival ESRI's Spatial Analyst.

I have spent a lot of time downloading SDTS DEMs from gisdatadepot, converting to mig, and using the great tool, GridAnalyser, to produce slope maps with four categories. Now I want to convert the slope classes to polygons. Is there anyway to do this with Mapinfo or with some MapBasic addon. Would be interested in seeing the source code for this kind of thing as I am trying to learn more about MapBasic and grid manipulation in general. Thanks in advance.
