Go and add an extra column to your table in your table manager and give it an integer value. Then when you have added the extra column go to Table Update column.
You should see something similar to this: (see below)
Table to update: (your table)
Column to update: (the column you just created)
Get Value from table: (your table) same table
Value: rowid
Under the value type rowid all one word and it will update with consecutive
numbers going down in your table.

Hi all,=20
I've got a layer (which are lakes) and i'm trying to find a way to =
insert an automatic number in a new column that I would create in the =
table. I haven't been able to find a way however. I've thought of =
going thru access but bringing back the info seems not possible since in =
that table, I havent got a unique identifier (which is the reason of the =
automatic number i'm trying to add).
Any idea?
