Listers: Does anybody know of an add-on tool for MapInfo that computes and maps trend surface analysis and residual maps. By this, I mean first computing and displaying the structure contours of a geological surface then subtracting the regional trend surface (which is basically a calculated flat plane in space) leaving residuals.
We currently use Vertical Mapper 2.6 for structure contouring, but it does not compute trend surfaces and residuals. Will Vertical Mapper 3.0 have this functionality? I have used Surfer 7.0 to calculate from 1st order up to 8th order trends, but importing the map into MapInfo is a pain. Any solutions/advice is greatly appreciated. Ron Gutiw, P.Geol.
