Dear List,

I have a table containing polygons. They all can be aggregated on a higher level by a
value written in a column. After combining these polygons on the higher level the
resulting polygons are often built up out of several parts.
All the polygons with more than one area have to be manually reviewed and maybe the
attributes on the lower level have to be changed to construct more regular polygons.

Here is my Question:
Is it possible to detect these parts of polygons on the lower level which are
completely surrounded by other polygons belonging to one other higher level value. In
this case I would like to modify the polygons higher level value attribute with the
higher level value of polygons it is surrounded by. (Sorry, I hope its not too
confusing.) In further combining work this polygon would have the same attributes like
the surrounding polygons and the aggregated polygonstructure looks more regular.

-Is this possible to achieve this with Mapbasic and MapInfo?
-The new attribute should be written in a specific new column.
-This all should be done automatically because of the huge amount of data.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
