Hi Mappers

I have read the past discussion re the desirability or otherwise of =
being able to smooth a polygon, as well as a polyline, with much =
interest.

However as a builder of synthetic scenarios for military planning I am =
desperate for this capability. Does anyone have a solution please? =
What would be really great is to have some control over the level of =
smoothing.

Alternatively does anyone know of some code that would not only allow =
the addition of points at a given distance but would randomly offset the =
points from the centreline within a set maximum displacement. As you =
can probably guess I am striving to create natural looking =
elevation/contour lines (but with a colour fill) that are based on =
digital terrain data but which currently lack appropriate definition on =
small scale maps.

Very grateful for any ideas

David Richardson
