MI-L New York State Topo Data

Hello there,   I am living up in Canada where you have to pay an arm and a leg for digital topo data. I am interested in developing some of my products in the United States - particularily New York state. Could anyone tell me a good place to start looking for digital topo data?   Thanks in advance   Chris   PS - I am aware of the USGS DEM and STDS data - I am looking for other data such as road networks, drainage, ect.   Thanks
