Hey, thanks to all of you for your suggestions on getting me plotting again.
AGAIN it is - I just plotted the most beautiful map, rasters on the bottom,
seven layers of drawings on top and not one single big black blob!
Don't know if this will help someone else out there but this is what I did
and believe me for the last two weeks I've done everything but this:
1. Delete your printer(plotter)
2. While in printers go to File/Server Properties/Drivers and delete the
drivers
3. I shut down my computer and restarted
4. I went on line and re-downloaded both hp drivers v4.60 and v4.61
5. Went through the process of installing the printer
6. I used the v4.60 driver. I tried installing the 4.60 driver several
times before
but I keep getting a windows error message that it could not finish
loading
drivers. v4.61 might work now also but I don't have the guts to try it!
7. In my computer/printers/printing preferences/advanced/ I'm using Print
Directly
8. In print processor tab I'm using RAW
9. In MapInfo/Options/Preferences/Out Put Settings/Printing I'm using Print
Directly
10. All other boxes are checked except Internal Handling for Transparent
Raster
As the sage Bill Thoen asked "why update?" Wish I hadn't, but it seems new
programs are coming out that don't support 95 or 98, and being
unsophisticated in the back of the house workings of computers I never
dreamed that messes like this could happen. But Bill you will be getting a
call from me before I jump off and up-grade again!
Thanks to all again
