i am looking for simple solution/trick to avoid the precision problem on MapInfo. I am exporting Data from another GIS (Smallworld) to mapinfo as mif and mid files. the coordinates of the mif files(say a point) are of the order something like 4567834.5480 and so on (Non earth "m") But when iam importing the same mif file in Mapinfo the coordinate changes to 4567834.5500. though the mif file reads 4567834.5480 Now when i am exporting the Mapinfo file into the mif file (overwriting the earlier with 4567834.5480) the mif file shows 4567834.5500. For this problem i am getting distance errors of .4 to 1 mtr for certain objects .
