Hi,

can anybody share some pearls of wisdom with me about getting Mapbasic and
Mapinfo to draw cartographic legends for 'query' tables (subsets). I want to
cycle through a series of queries adding the results to a mapper, at the
same time, adding a frame to a carto legend showing the object style and
corresponding text from a specific field in th equery......So far i have
managed to get legends with only object description text ie "Region", and
not the expected field attribute, and object styles that bear no visual
relation to the objects shown in the mapper (green regions in the legend,
blue regions on the map). Legends created by MB/MI for the base tables
appear to work, but as soon as i subset the table, i get nothing
sensible.(the latter problem of mismatched object styles appears to be a
platform issue, the same program running on win98 correctly displays the
tile (and the text), but W2000 is a complete flunk)....at the moment i am
tempted to go back to drawing legends by hand...

any help very gratefully received
