hey people, i'm wondering if anyone knows if you can record other data such as Speed, Elevation, PDOP, Heading, etc. within the GPS for downloading. i'm pretty sure i've seen most of the stuff a GPS unit can do (ours anyway), but i'm wondering if i'm missing something simple. it shows this information on the display, but i assume this is calculated on the fly. when i go out in a car with a laptop i can record it as it happens, but most of the time we have people out and about with only the GPS unit and we would like to be able to record all the other information also. also if anyone knows of any things to watch out for with such data then feel free to pipe up. if there is nothing within the GPS then i assume it would be fairly simple to design some code which analyzes the downloaded data after the fact. i use a Garmin GPS II Plus. any references to existing code or even other GPS units are welcome so i don't have to unnecessarily re-invent the wheel. gramercy ash.
