Hello David, I have a utility which creates a distance matrix. It was written some time ago so I will need to dig it up from an archive tape. I will need to check it over quickly as it may have a hardcoded field name assumption within it. Anyway, it generates a comma delimited text file. Give me a day or so and I'll e-mail it to you.

Each one has an ID number and a name and I have updated two columns with the X & Y coordinates (British National Grid) of the zones centroid. The problem that I have is distance related because I need to create a matrix that shows for each zone the straight line distance from its centroid to the centroid of all the other zones in the system. The matrix when constructed will therefore be 77 rows by 77 columns. Is there a geographical process within MI that I can follow to achieve this? Has anyone developed a tool to do a similar process? Or would it be just as achievable if I shut MI down, open up MS Excel and dust off my 'Pythagoras for Dummies' manual? Any thoughts greatly appreciated...and I'll sum the results too!
