Hi everyone,

Here are the various replies I got from other MapInfo users :
A great thank you to them all!

Steve Smith :
"I recommend that they evaluate the Xerox 7700. www.xerox.com"

Aaron Queheillalt :
"We have two 11*17 printers available in my office, the Tektronix 780 and a HP 8550.
They are both great printers with their own qualities. The Tektronix produces a
glossy output which is very impressive. At the same time it can produce a glare that
is a little annoying. The HP 8550 is much faster than the Tektronix with very high
quality output as well (no glare). Both printers can be fairly expensive, if I
remember correctly somewhere around 4-7k each. I would recommend adding internal
memory if you go with either model. "

Kent Treichel :
"I have access to a HP 8500dn color laserjet. There have been a few hiccups with
drivers and settings, but I
like the output. I don't think it's cheap. The best settings/driver I came up with
was a postscript driver. I tried
the HPGL driver but the color was pretty bad, and it was noticeably slower."

Tim Nuteson :
"I use an HP 8500 and it works pretty well. It is fairly
expensive to operate, though."

Genevive Poupart :
Recommends the QMS Magicolor 330, about 8 000 $CAN. She operates it with MapInfo and
Freehand and is quite satisfied with the results although she's had to change a few
components before the end of their said regular lifetime.
