Dear Listers, I am having the following problem.
I have some location map in Smallworld. if you take any point on the map say a location the non earth coordinates (default in Smallworld) is x=4314567678mm the Lat long is 77.13 E and 13.21 N (India polyconic) Now i am importing some locations from Mapinfo to Smallworld. In Mapinfo the data is in lat long (India polyconic). i am converting this map to a non earth mm map by saving a copy as with the new non earth mm projection (is this the correct way to convert ?) after converting the same point in Mapinfo also (ie. 77.13 E and 13.21 N (India polyconic)) is now converted to x= 8629346777mm. it has nearly doubled in Mapinfo from that of Smallworld Now when i am importing it to smallworld. it is giving out of bounds in Smallworld as the x and y has increased in mapinfo. Where is the mistake i am doing ? during conversion to Non earth from lat long ? why the same point in Smallworld and Mapinfo have diffrent non earth positions but having the same lat long position ? please help Anirban
