Hi all, Thanks to all of you on the Mapinfo scale discussion. I got the right kind of insight from all of you. Now i am sure of what i was looking for.
Thanks for all the clarifications. It was really a simple thing and i was a little confused. kaiser u are very right. i went through a methodology of Map preparation from our conversion services division and now the concept is clear. thanks again, Anirban -----Original Message----- From: Christof Kaiser [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, August 02, 2002 12:22 PM To: 'Anirban'; MapInfo-L Subject: AW: MI-L Again on MapInfo Scale > 1. How to identify the Scale of a Map (not the display scale but the > scale > in which the map is created) from my understanding, there is no such thing as a creation scale of a map in MI. you draw your things (in the projection you have choosen) and that's all. the scale is only needed for displaying the map. if you want another scale, just display the same map with a different scale. smallworld offers more freedom but is much more complex. > 4. Say i am importing a Mapinfo map to Smallworld. The converter asks > for > the map scale for input. I can find the map scale from smallworld easily. hmm good question. have you tried 1:1 ? cheers christof --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 2341 --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 2347
