Hello Richard,

The function mapperinfo() has parameters which allow you to query the
extents of a mapper window. You can then build a rectangle using "create
rect...". It would not be too difficult to build a MapBasic application
which adds a couple of menu options to Pro - one to "drop" a fresh rectangle
into the current editable layer, and another to zoom to a selected
rectangle.

Subject: MI-L How to generate a minimum bounding rectangle

Given a map window of a certain size, how does one generate the minimum
bounding rectangle of the map within? or zoom in or out to get the window to
be the minimum bounding rectangle. Is MB code available that will draw a
minimum bounding rectangle around a set of map features?

Thanks
