Hi All

Would it be possible for someone to briefly explaun how queries work in
mapinfo. I am connected to an Access database using ODBC. I have created
queries using the SQL select facility. I have queried on the ODBC table. The
query is on simple and my desired data is viewed when I press Ok. I then
save the query as a table and make it part of my workspace. I change the
symbol of the tab layer to reflect various states. Each state has its own
tab layer

High
Medium
Low
Non

Each of these is on its own tab layer, and each has been saved from the
individual queries

Ie

Select * from TMBC where status = "High"
Select * from TMBC where status = "Medium"
Select * from TMBC where status = "Low"
Select * from TMBC where status = "Non"

TMBC is my ODBC connection table. This seems to work fine I can switch on
and off the layer when required to view other data.

The problem is when I make an update in the access table this is not
reflected on the query tables. It seems like the tables are static. If I
change a status from high to low, the colour of the symbol should change to
relfect the low tab colour. This is not happening. Am I doing these things
the right way.
Should I be saving them as tabs or just leaving them as queries

Hope someone can help
Thanks for reading

Jamie (new but keen)
