Congrats on all the great resources at this
location. I've only just re joined this list after some years, I downloaded
the How to tip and tricks PDF. It has some great base info, but I noticed it
hasn't been updated since Oct 97. I know everyone's flat out, but maybe for
2003 ?????

I've already asked for:
1. Search by author
2. A way to upload files and URLs
3. A way for authors to modify their own
entries
I think showing the URL instead of file name
is better because it
indicates that the file is on an external
site so people know
they are headed to a new site if they click
on it. Then you have
people who upload files like "download.htm"
You know, there is a security risk by
pointing people blindly to
some URL. Suppose the little twit whose been
sending out Klez
viruses using subject lines that look like
GIS oriented mailing
list mail tries this technique next? No, I
think I'd prefer to
see URLs that I know will send me to safe
sites like
http://www.paris-pc-gis.com/ rather than by
surprise to
http://www.AxisOfEvil.com.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?
