Before smoothing the nodes, you may want to try packing the table. Maybe that'll reduce the size.

The original file had the island divided into over 400 different regions. I though by combining the regions into one big region I would be able to significantly reduce the number of nodes and therefor the actual file size, less data = less space. But I was wrong, no change in file size occured at all. I realize I can run a node smoothing utility, which ones work best or is there a better way to achieve the desired result? TIA. Does anyone know if MI7 uses a lot more graphics memory than older versions? The problem occurs when I have more than one application open - this did not used to happen with older versions. I am writing a training manual, and as such have MS Word, MI, and Excel open at the same time. Norton keeps telling me I'm running out of GDI resources, even though the files I have open in MI are both few, and small. I did have a similar trouble previously with large raster files not reallocating graphics memory on panning, but that was fixed by the recent patch. I'm using MI7 and Win98.
