I am also running MapInfo 6.5 with Windows 2000. The most common issue that
I've experienced has to do with rights to directories. Sometimes the
application will try to make changes in directories to which the user does
not have rights. The solution in this case, is obviously to give the user
rights to the necessary directories (or files). Otherwise change the
directory within the application.

Subject: MI-L MapInfo Pro 6.5 and Win2000 Issues

Hi

We're experiencing problems with a MapInfo Pro 6.5 custom application on
Win2000 machines. The custom application works perfectly on Win2000 with
Administrator Rights yet misbehaves with Power User Rights and below. These
problems don't appear with NT4.0 machines. Symptoms are that the MBX seems
to re-run when the application issues a remove dialog call. Clearly we'd
like to avoid giving users Administrator Rights to Win2000 / MapInfo Pro 6.5
users and so we're about to start looking at Security Policy Templates.
Before we do that does anyone have any experience with or suggestions
regarding this problem?

TIA

Ioan
