I am also running MapInfo 6.5 with Windows 2000. The most common issue that I've experienced has to do with rights to directories. Sometimes the application will try to make changes in directories to which the user does not have rights. The solution in this case, is obviously to give the user rights to the necessary directories (or files). Otherwise change the directory within the application.
