Peter and other list users. AS you may or may not be aware MaPInfo Pro does not use the most accurate form of GDA translation available. The best method of coverting to GDA uses FME and the GRID transformation file. The latest grid can be downloaded from- http://www.anzlic.org.au/icsm/gdatm/index.html
As a MapInfo and Safe Software Partner - Lagen Spatial has developed FME scripts that will do batch (bulk) conversions of MapInfo (and other formats) from multiple projection parameters into GDA94(Projection of choice). We have implemented this strategy at 2 major state government sites already and are set to make this method widespread. If you already have FME then you are a step ahead. Standard UT in MIpro will NOT do GDA conversions. LPI NSW has used this method to transform their cadastre.
