hello,

Last week I had to write down the MBWin commands to select text objects by
the text for a temporary worker that is not a MI power user but can do the
basics [all we needed], so they could "fill in the blanks" in MBWin.

So instead of writing the down again, I wrote them in code. ----
FindLike.exe

This is a Delphi application that will attach to you current MI session.

* Find any type of object -- points, lines, regions, text and subtypes
* Find the "text" in Text Objects
* Replace the "text" of Text Objects with Left$, Mid$, Right$ functionallity
including replacing all occurrances with the mid function
works by searching with standard SQL "%"
* Find by Rotation Angle range ">=30 and <60"

Once the initial selection is "picked", mainly to the the table to work
with, you can change the attributes to work with using the same icon buttons
as the "MI Pickers".
Such as original is "solid red line width 1" -- no problem -- click the
picker and make it "green width 2"

THIS IS "beta" first release software
If you want to try it and help refine and debug it
just reply to the email and I'll tell send you the link to download it.

I don't get in until 6pm CDT and with hurricane Isidore threatening South
Texas later in the week I will answer what I can and really hoping we get
missed again.
Use in my coords below and check http://www.srh.noaa.gov/crp/ for latest
weather.

Subject: MI-L Selecting Points

Is there a way using an SQL query to select only point objects in a layer.
Im trying to separate the objects in a drainage layer (points for catch
basins, lines for pipes) so I can export it to ArcView. Any ideas about
that would be appreciated also.
