Hi Steve
THANKS for the information.
I've downloaded the trackmaker program, It's a nifty little program and frankly quite
powerful.
I've been able to load up location points as way-points without difficulty.
However I have a problem when I try loading up trackpoints.(I havnt been able to get
in routes- yet to find out how it is done.).
Roads are loaded in as trackpoints. When I do this, for the first road, its OK after
that, when I go on to load the second set of trackpoints for the next road, the pack
gets into a strange behaviour of connecting up some end points, trying to make it
into polygons!. So I end up with many unwanted straight lines on the map!
Am still trying to find out why this happens.
By the way the s/w is also very good at pulling out data from the GPS . So if I put
it in my car and drive around, I can come back and get the route on to a map and then
save it as .mif and finally pull it into MAPINFO- really fine.
There is also, i guess, provition to use scanned maps after registeration. I've not
yet tried it.
For other MI listers interested, the s/w can be downloaded from www.gpstm.com and is
worth a try if you dont have access to readymade map data like mapsend.
regards
Roy

Hello Roy,

There is a useful program, GPS Trackmaker, available from www.gpstm.com -
Free subject to certain conditions.

I haven't tried loading MI Data to a GPS, but I think it should be possible
with this program - You can open a MapInfo MIF file, and should then be able
to upload it to the GPS.

Hope this helps, Cheers, Stephen.
