Thanks to Trey and Martin for responding to my question.
I guess we can't cater for everyone, but if we supply all the information about
the dataset with the data to the data requestor he/she would know how to get the
information that he/she was after.

Hello,
You could use the "Hot-Link" feature of MI.
Then put the disertation in a text file and link to it and leave a 254 field
with the convoluted stuff for those that would know how to decipher it.
I have a MBX that is a lot more flexible that Hot-Link, you have columns for
application and file.
Written a few months before MI installed in the next version.
