Neal, I sifted through the rumors on Mi-L and elsewhere - and the buzzword-compliant news item on the MapInfo web-site. I formed the following _tentative_ conclusion:
1) MapBasic _will_ be supported in MI-Pro 8.0 2) Mi-Pro will be converted to a .net application and because of that, it may be controlled by any .net enabled development platform. That means VB.net, C++.net, C#.net java.net (or whatever Microsoft calls it at present time) and Borland Delphi 7.0. There is more languages, that support .net. However, nobody outside MiCorp seems to know, how many objects, methods, properties and events, that Mi-Pro .Net will expose to the programmer. For information on that, you probably have to wait for the next Mi-beta to appear from MapInfo regards Bo Thomsen GeoConsult I/S Denmark -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Niemiec, Neal [mailto:Neal.Niemiec@;echostar.com] Sendt: 28. oktober 2002 22:30 Til: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Emne: MI-L New Script Language I heard that MapBasic will not be used in the next version of MapInfo Professional. Does anyone know what script language will take its place?
