Hi All,

Please excuse this elementary question to the group.
But I am pulling what is left of my hair out on seemingly a simple task.
By the way, as you may have guessed I am very new to the program (1 week).
I am trying to extract information from a large database using multiple
queries pertaining to different groupings. I need to perform these queries
using regions, laid out by polygon shapes. It seems that I am unable to
establish regions that "stick" to the query unless I set in the cosmetic
layer. And, as you probably already know, I am unable to query the dB
using these regions in the cosmetic layer.

Related questions: Can you query across layers and if so how?
Do I need Map Basic? or can this be performed without it?

I am totally confused. I am used to working with DB's but I am stumped,
after searching your archives and the manuals I am still at square 1.

I would appreciate any help any of you can give on this question.

Best Regards,
...working for a safer world...
