Many of you likely know that I dig surface analysis.... I would like to direct any out there looking to expand MapInfo Pro 6.x+ into grid analysis to give MapCalc Learner a try. It's a slightly limited version of MapCalc Pro and is aimed at helping jump-start MapInfo users and students interested in MIG-centric spatial analysis.
The Learner is available as a 14-day trialware download or as a $21.95 CD with heaps of spatial analysis tutorial. It is limited to 100x100 grids as well as depending on only WGS84 projections in TAB and SHP formats. Other than these limitations you get all other functionality - spatial statistics, neighborhood analysis, contours, grid mathematics, and much more. There is also a nifty MIP app Freeware on the site below for MI Pro 6.x+ named TravelTime that is an example of a MapCalc derived "travel friction" surface as well as what .NET style MIP apps may look like. MapCalc Pro adds MapInfo's MapX engine for projection management, expanded grid import/export, as well as registration of geoTIFs that then rasterizing either the image's RS values or image color values. Both MapCalc Learner and Pro have excellent one button cross-integration to MapInfo and Surfer. http://www.redhensystems.com/mapcalc FYI MidNight Mapper Aka neil http://www.redhensystems.com/mapcalc ...it was not VM that Marconi liked, it was dB Planner..... --------------------------------------------------------------------- List hosting provided by Directions Magazine | www.directionsmag.com | To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message number: 3882
