Hello mapinfo-l,
My first time one this list -- I hope this works.
I would like to know if there any reasonable workarounds for dealing
with large text or memo fields in MapInfo 7.0. Basically, I need to
be able to query information in Access memo fields -- ideally,
the memo field would also be editable from within MapInfo.
So far I have run up against a brick wall.
People have suggested I use a number of text fields to get around
the 254 character limit but this is an extremely awkward solution.
I have also tried hotlinks. These give access to the text data,
but they cannot be queried.
I have used ODBC drivers with Live Access. The memo fields are
only available up to 254 characters and they are not editable.
Anyone have any ideas on this? Suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
