Suzanne,
Have you tried saving the pictures as Windows metafiles (WMF)? This saves
them as vector images and not raster images. Vector images allow much more
detail and usually a smaller file size.

In MapInfo, under the File menu, select "Save Window As". Click on "Save",
and under the "Save as type", select "Windows metafile (*.wmf)" under the
drop down menu. Name your file and save it.

Good luck.

Subject: MI-L Bringing maps into word

Hi there,
This is a problem I've had before... but need to solve it....
I want to bring maps into word as pictures.
I used to do this with Acrobat Distiller, but don't have it on my machine,
and even when I used a computer with it on it, it didn't always work.

So now all I can do is save layouts as bitmaps/jpegs. However a lot of the
detail of a 1:10 000 map is lost when one does this.

Anyone any ideas?
cheers,
