Michel I'm a bit unsure of the point you're making...
The OCI is an interface MapInfo licence from Oracle in their products to get direct access to Oracle spatial data. ODBC is appropriate for accessing non-spatial attributes from Oracle tables and depending on your application you might well have both on the go at the same time (we do). But I don't see why you want to use ODBC drivers to get hold of spatial data when the OCI is available. If you want to retrieve your spatial data in MI Pro after loading it through EasyLoader then use a new Oracle Spatial connection, not an ODBC one. You'll need the same TNSNAMES.ORA file that your EasyLoader had (if you're on a different machine), and you'll need to check the Oracle Spatial option when installing MapInfo. Works fine ... I already have installed MapInfo DBMS Support 7.0 and MapInfo DAO-ODBC 7.0... I can connect and access geometries in spatial DB with the "native interface" but not with ODBC... to be clear: 1* Using easyloader, I can load a table with the "native interface", with ODBC I can only load XY values. 2* When I try to load a table from MIPro containing geometries via ODBC I got an error So is it a limitation of the existing ODBC Driver or an installation error ??? I with Oracle 9X want to know if it is possible to access Oracle spatial geometry table via ODBC.
