We used to do what you are describing, but, over the past few years, working
large tables seems to work fine. In our case, we've sized the large street
tables so they fit on CD's. I think you can setup three large tables with
the streets (for StreetPro Display). Most of the other layers can be
combined into single layers.

With that said, you didn't mention the specifics of your application, but my
guess is the opening and closing of tables (I assume over a network) will
slow things down more. Just my $02.

Greetings List,

Has an application been developed to "drill down" through the layers pf
StreetPro?

Here's the scenario: A GPS reading is received anywhere in the USA and I
need to see that point on a street map at a zoom level of, say, one mile.

Combining all the streets into one humungous file is not practical (seamless
or otherwise). So I imagine there is a "drilling" process involved - GPS
point identifies state, search state for counties, open street map of
county, etc.

I'm pretty sure that this has all been done in the USA several times over.

Your advice will be most appreciated.

TIA to all responders.

Best regards,
