HI Steve, Save your money if your current version is satisfactory.
But depending on what sort of work you're doing, you may find compelling reasons to upgrade. Key areas are: 1. Spatial data creation and editing. The object editing tools are much more powerful now (eg. full clean and build functionality). 2. Extended raster support. If you use aerial photography then you probably should be using it in one of the modern compressed formats (ecw or MrSid). These formats are fully supported now but didn't exist in v5. 3. Grid support. Support for grids (DEMs etc) was introduced in v5, but is much better in more recent versions. 4. Data Source support. v5 can't support data sources released after v5 was released. This includes Access2000, Oracle 8.1.7, Spatial etc 5. Raster printing. Always a problem with earlier versions of MI Pro. Still not problem-free all the time, but greatly improved from v5.5 to v6.5. Also raster transparency is supported. I have a comprehensive list of upgrade features for all versions from v4.5 onwards at www.avantra.com.au/mipro_featurelist.htm.
